Number 11 Tracing Worksheet
Change the size, paper, tracing style or turn on trace & fade before printing.
About this worksheet
Trace the number 11 and the word “eleven”, then color 11 circles in the ten frames — that’s one full ten and 1 more.
How to write 11: Write the 1 first (start at the top and pull straight down.), then the 1 right next to it.
Tips
- Count real objects before coloring the ten frame.
- Talk about whether the number is bigger or smaller than 10.
- For teen numbers, point out the “1” that means one ten.
How to use this worksheet
- Count out that many real objects, like blocks or buttons, before you start writing.
- Trace the solid number with a finger, starting at the dot.
- Trace the dotted numbers with a pencil, then trace the number word.
- Color the matching number of circles in the ten frame and say the number again.
Printing tips
- Print at 100% (“Actual size”) on US Letter or A4 so the lines stay the right size.
- Plain copy paper works for pencils and crayons. Use slightly heavier paper if your child likes markers.
- Need a different size or tracing style? Choose Customize to change the paper, line size and tracing style before printing.
- Print one copy first to check the fit, then print as many as you need.
Common questions
My child writes some numbers backwards. Should I worry?
Reversing numbers such as 2, 3, 5, 7 and 9 is very common at this age and usually fades by about age 7. Keep practicing the starting dot and direction, and check in with a teacher if it continues.
What is the ten frame for?
A ten frame is a grid of ten boxes. Coloring in the right number of circles shows how much a number means and makes it easy to see how far it is from 10.
Why is there a page for zero?
Zero is a tricky idea for young children. The zero page shows that it is a number meaning “none” and has an empty ten frame to make that visible.
