Where to start

Best for: Ages 4–7 (preschool to 1st grade) · Time: 10–15 minutes per activity

Download the St. Patrick’s Day handwriting packet to get all three activities in one PDF, or pick one page. Word tracing suits beginners, read and write works once children know the words, and rainbow writing makes a fun finish.

  • Day 1: trace the words (hat, pot, gold, luck and more) and read each one aloud.
  • Day 2: read and write the words on their own, with the example covered.
  • Day 3: rainbow-write the favorite words in three colors.
  • Day 4: trace the phrases and copy one onto a card or drawing.

Tips for st. patrick’s day

  • Use green crayons in three different shades.
  • Hide the finished page as a “leprechaun” surprise.
  • Count the leaves on a clover: three or four?
