Where to start
Best for: Ages 4–7 (preschool to 1st grade) · Time: 10–15 minutes per activity
Download the Winter handwriting packet to get all three activities in one PDF, or pick one page. Word tracing suits beginners, read and write works once children know the words, and rainbow writing makes a fun finish.
- Day 1: trace the words (snow, cold, ice, hat and more) and read each one aloud.
- Day 2: read and write the words on their own, with the example covered.
- Day 3: rainbow-write the favorite words in three colors.
- Day 4: trace the phrases and copy one onto a card or drawing.
Tips for winter
- Go on a winter word hunt around the house.
- Use blue and white crayons for frosty rainbow writing.
- Pair the page with a favorite snowy picture book.
