Tips

  • Sing the alphabet song while tracing.
  • Point out the letters in your child’s name.
  • Use the uppercase page first, then lowercase, then the pairs.

How to use this worksheet

Best for: Ages 5–6 (kindergarten) · Time: 10–15 minutes per page

  1. Sing the alphabet song once, pointing to each letter on the page.
  2. Trace a few letters at a time rather than the whole page at once, then take a break.
  3. Start each letter at the dot and say its name as you trace.
  4. Color in or circle any letters from your child’s name when you finish.

Printing tips

  • Print at 100% (“Actual size”) on US Letter or A4 so the lines stay the right size.
  • Plain copy paper works for pencils and crayons. Use slightly heavier paper if your child likes markers.
  • Need a different size or tracing style? Choose Customize to change the paper, line size and tracing style before printing.
  • Print one copy first to check the fit, then print as many as you need.

Common questions

When should I use the full alphabet pages instead of single letters?

Use the single-letter pages to introduce and practice new letters. Use the alphabet pages for review once your child knows most of their letters, or as a daily warm-up.

What are the Aa–Zz pair pages for?

Each uppercase letter sits next to its lowercase partner, so children can see how the two forms match. They are useful for kindergarteners who know both forms but mix them up.

How often should my child practice?

Ten minutes a day is plenty. A short daily routine, such as five letters after breakfast, builds fluency faster than a long weekly session.
